  • Help@hand

    Total health and wellbeing support for employees, including remote GPs, mental health support and full integrated Employee Assistance Programme – with a comprehensive employee communications toolkit.

  • Rehabilitation and return to work support

    Immediate access to specialist support to help individuals stay at work if struggling with a health condition or return to work after absence. We also offer a personal wellbeing check to keep your employees engaged and productive.

  • Online workshops

    Available for HR professionals and line managers on a number of workplace wellbeing topics including sickness absence, mental health and bereavement, to help understand how best to support employees.

  • Mental Health Pathway

    Unum’s Mental Health Pathway is an early intervention service providing fast, specialist support to employers and their employees when facing a mental health concern.

  • Cancer Pathway

    Unum’s Cancer Pathway provides quick and easy access to cancer support upon diagnosis, through treatment and after treatment – whenever needed.

What is Income Protection and how does it benefit employers?

Income Protection provides rehabilitation and financial protection if an employee is unable to work because of long-term illness or injury. Our customers also have access to an extensive range of health and wellbeing services.

Absence management

To help employers manage sickness absence and the associated costs, Unum provides services and resources including specialist rehabilitation support for employees returning to work, an absence helpline for quick queries, legal support and workplace wellbeing support - helping to reduce the impact on an organisation.

To keep staff healthy and help prevent unnecessary sickness absence, employees have access to comprehensive health and wellbeing support.   • We provide onboarding support to your clients via our monthly 30-minute online Wellbeing Ready sessions. As a broker, you’re also welcome to attend. During the session, we’ll explain the benefits of the support services available to policyholders and their employees. The sessions include a Q&A and useful downloads to ensure your clients can quickly register for these services.

  • If a member of a scheme requires medical underwriting, they can find all the information they need here.

  • Yes. Help@hand is available to employees insured under their employer’s Group Income Protection, Group Life or Group Critical Illness policy. There is no additional cost to the employer.

    Selected Help@hand services are also available to uninsured employees at no additional cost. Employers can extend the full suite of services to employees not covered by the Group Risk policy for a cost of £4.15 per month.

    * Help@hand® is a digital, value-added service provided to Unum Limited (“Unum”) by Square Health Limited which connects employees of Unum customers to third party specialists who can help manage their, and their families’, health and wellbeing. Access is facilitated by Unum at no cost to the Unum customer and with no increase in premium. However, employees will be liable for charges for medication and delivery, referral letters and private fit notes. Unum may withdraw or change this service at any time. The service is entirely separate to the Unum insurance policy and is subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant third-party specialists. Unum will not receive any payment or commission from Square Health Limited arising from any employee involvement with Help@hand. Available to UK residents only.
